Arshika Arya Mesmerizes at Rajyotsav 2025
Korba(Nov 4). A mesmerizing Kathak performance by young dancer Arshika Arya (Promising child artist) from DPS Balco stole the spotlight at the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav 2025, organized to mark the state’s Silver Jubilee celebrations. The four-day cultural extravaganza, being held from November 2 to 5 in Korba, featured a host of artists, but it was Arshika’s graceful recital that captivated every heart in the audience.
Trained under Guru Ranjit Nayak, Arshika, a Class IV student, performed a traditional Kathak piece that beautifully reflected the rhythm, expressions, and elegance of Indian classical dance. Despite her tender age, her confidence, composure, and control over rhythm amazed the spectators, who responded with a standing ovation and thunderous applause.
Her presentation showcased a seamless blend of classical precision and childlike charm, symbolizing the perfect union of tradition and youthful creativity. Many dignitaries and art enthusiasts present at the event lauded her performance, calling her “a beacon of cultural pride for Chhattisgarh.”
Arshika has earlier performed at major cultural platforms in Bilaspur, Bhilai, and Pune, consistently earning accolades for her expressive storytelling through dance. Her ability to convey emotion through movement has distinguished her as one of the most promising young Kathak artists from the region.
Coming from a family deeply supportive of her artistic pursuits, Arshika’s father works at Balco Plant, while her mother serves as a lecturer in the Education Department. Their constant encouragement and Guru Nayak’s expert mentorship have been instrumental in shaping her growing journey in classical dance.
Arshika’s enchanting performance at the Rajyotsav 2025 not only brought glory to her school and family but also highlighted the rich reservoir of young talent emerging from Chhattisgarh. Her artistry stands as a reminder that the cultural heartbeat of the state continues to thrive vibrantly in its younger generation.
