Taking into account the matter of people boycotting voting for their demands regarding electricity supply, approach roads, drinking water, mobile connectivity in dependent villages of Sardih, village Darga, village Barpali-Rajadih, village Panchayat Solwan under village Phulwari, Kharibhavna, Lalmati, Dhabadand, Kerakchhar under Rampur assembly of Korba district, Collector and District Election Officer Mr Saurabh Kumar has instructed the officials to take necessary action. He has issued a letter to the concerned officials to ensure the arrangement of electricity, drinking water supply and approach road and mobile connectivity issue in the dependent villages and has given instructions to solve the problem as soon as possible. To further address the issue, the administrative officials went among the Pahari Korvas of the respective villages and informed them about the solution to their problems and explained to them the importance of voting.
Satisfied with the information received from the officials, all the villagers including the Pahari Korvas have agreed to withdraw the decision of boycotting the Assembly Elections-2023 and have pledged to exercise their voting rights.
Based on the problems and grievances identified during the investigation by the concerned SDM and Tehsildar, Collector Mr Saurabh Kumar has ensured the arrangements of electricity supply, drinking water supply and approach roads in the villages including Phulwari, Kharibhavna, Lalmati, Dhabadand, dependent village Sardih of Kerakchhar, village Barpali-Rajadih, Piparkona Mohalla under Gram Panchayat Solwan. Arrangements for mobile connectivity of these places will also be ensured soon. He has issued a letter to the Executive Engineer of CREDA and CSEB for supply and maintenance of electricity with solar panels and to the Executive Engineer, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak for the construction of approach road from Bagdharidand to Khairibhavana. The Collector has issued a letter to the Executive Engineer, Public Health Engineering to resolve the problem of high iron content in the drinking water supplied in Kharibhavna village and has given instructions to investigate the matter and install a new bore. Collector has issued letters to various service providers including BSNL, Jio, Airtel for mobile network connectivity in the villages populated with Pahari Korvas.
It is noteworthy that village Bagdharidand and Sardih of Rampur assembly constituency of Korba district come under polling station number 96, name of the polling station is Darga, wherein 88.33 percent voting took place in the assembly elections in year 2018 and 85.29 percent voting took place in the Lok Sabha elections – 2019. After learning about the boycott of election by Pahadi Korvas, the administrative officials visited them and explained to them the importance of voting. Convinced with their explanation, villagers withdrew the decision to boycott the Legislative Assembly Elections-2023 and have pledged to vote.
